Contact VPS Hungary Support and Sales

Whether you are comparing plans for a first virtual server in Budapest, troubleshooting a node that will not boot, or sorting out an invoice, the quickest way to reach the VPS Hungary team is in writing. Every request is logged, routed to the right department and kept on record, so nothing gets lost between shifts and you always have a written history of what was agreed.

This page explains the channels available, which department handles what, the details that help us solve a problem on the first reply, and what to expect once your message is in the queue. You will also find guidance on requesting a custom quote, reporting abuse coming from one of our IP addresses, and how we verify account ownership before making sensitive changes. We do not run a phone line and there is no walk-in office; written support lets our engineers work around the clock without keeping you on hold.

VPS Hungary support engineer answering client tickets for Budapest VPS and dedicated servers

Ways to Reach the VPS Hungary Team

We keep our contact options deliberately simple. There are three channels, and each one feeds into the same help desk, so you can choose whichever suits the situation without worrying that your message will be overlooked.

Support tickets in the client area

The ticket system is the primary channel for existing customers. Log in to the client area, then open a support ticket and choose the relevant department. Tickets are linked to your account and services, which means the engineer reading your request can see which virtual machine or bare metal server you are referring to, its plan, its IP addresses and its billing status. That context removes a lot of back-and-forth. Tickets also keep a full conversation thread, attachments included, and you receive an email notification whenever a staff member replies.

Email

You can write to info@vpshungary.com at any time. Email is useful if you have not yet created an account, if you cannot log in, or if you simply prefer your own mail client. Messages sent to this address are converted into tickets on our side, so they follow the same workflow. If you already have an account, please send from the address registered on it; that lets us match the message to your profile automatically.

Contact form

The WHMCS contact form is ideal for pre-sales questions. You do not need to sign up, and you can ask about plan suitability, operating system choices, add-ons or payment methods before placing an order. Answers arrive by email.

What we do not offer

VPS Hungary does not provide telephone support, live chat by phone, or a public street address for visits. Our infrastructure sits in a Tier III certified facility in Budapest that is not open to customers, and our team works remotely across shifts. Written communication gives you a permanent record, lets you paste exact error messages and log extracts, and allows us to hand a case to a specialist without asking you to repeat yourself. For almost every hosting issue, a clear ticket is faster than a call.

Choosing the Right Support Department

When you submit a ticket you are asked to pick a department. Selecting the correct one sends your request straight to the people best placed to answer it. If you choose the wrong one, do not worry: staff will move it, but a correct choice saves time.

Sales

Use Sales for anything you want to know before buying or before changing what you have. Typical questions include which plan fits a particular workload, whether VPH1 is suitable for a small VPN or proxy endpoint, how much RAM a database instance really needs, the difference between a virtual machine and a dedicated server, add-on pricing for extra IPv4 addresses or control panels, and how upgrading to a higher plan works. Sales also handles custom quotes for configurations that are not listed on the VPS or dedicated server pages.

If a matter touches more than one area, for example a server suspended for an unpaid invoice that now needs a reboot, pick the department for the first thing that must happen.

What to Include in a Support Ticket

The single biggest factor in how quickly a problem gets resolved is the quality of the first message. A ticket that contains the right details can often be fixed in one reply; a vague one may need several rounds of questions before anyone can start working. The checklist below covers what our engineers look for.

  1. 1

    Identify the service

    • The hostname or main IP address of the affected VPS or dedicated server.
    • The plan name, such as VPH3 or DSH2, if you have several services.
    • The operating system and version you are running.
  2. 2

    Describe the problem precisely

    • What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
    • When the issue started, with a time and your time zone.
    • Whether it is constant or intermittent, and whether anything changed beforehand, such as a kernel update, firewall rule or new software.
    • Exact error messages, copied as text rather than paraphrased.
  3. 3

    Show your own diagnostics

For network issues, include output from ping, traceroute or mtr run from your location towards the server, and if possible from the server outward. For boot problems, mention what you see on the console. For performance complaints, a snapshot from top, htop or Task Manager helps us tell whether the bottleneck is inside the guest or on the host node.

  4. 4

State what you want us to do

If you need a specific action, such as a hard reboot, an operating system reinstall, or a PTR record set to a particular hostname, say so clearly. Reinstallation wipes the disk, so confirm in writing that you have taken any backups you need. We will not reinstall a server on assumption.

  5. 5

Never send passwords in plain text unless asked

Do not paste root or Administrator passwords, private keys or payment card numbers into a ticket by default. If an engineer genuinely needs temporary access to investigate inside your server, they will ask, and you can create a temporary credential that you change once the work is finished. Our staff will never request your client area password.

One problem per ticket is best. If you have an unrelated question, open a separate ticket so each issue can be tracked and closed on its own.

Support Hours and Response Expectations

That said, we prefer to be honest about how response times work instead of quoting a fixed number of minutes that cannot be guaranteed in every situation.

Our help desk is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including weekends and public holidays. Tickets can be opened at any time and are worked on continuously rather than waiting for office hours. That said, we prefer to be honest about how response times work instead of quoting a fixed number of minutes that cannot be guaranteed in every situation.

How the queue is handled

Tickets are generally answered in the order they arrive, with priority given to issues that affect availability. A server that is completely down, a request for a hard reboot, or a reinstall needed to recover a broken system is treated as urgent and pushed ahead of general questions. Pre-sales enquiries, billing clarifications and feature questions are answered promptly but sit behind outages when the queue is busy.

Factors that affect timing

  • Clarity of the request. A ticket with full details, as described above, can be acted on straight away.
  • Type of work. Resetting a VM or adding a PTR record is quick. Investigating an intermittent network fault or a failing disk in a dedicated server takes longer because it requires observation and testing.
  • Hardware tasks. Physical work on bare metal, such as replacing a drive or memory module, depends on on-site technicians in the Budapest facility and on parts availability.
  • Scope. Because services are unmanaged, an engineer may reply to explain that a particular application issue is outside standard support.

New orders

New orders are processed in the order they arrive. A VPS is normally delivered within 1 to 6 hours after payment is confirmed, and a dedicated server within 24 to 72 hours. If you need a server live by a particular time, mention it in a Sales ticket before you order and we will tell you whether the timeline is realistic.

Keeping things moving

Reply inside the same ticket rather than opening a new one for the same issue; duplicate tickets split the conversation and can push your case further down the queue. You can follow the status of every request from the client area.

Requesting a Custom Quote or Tailored Configuration

The plans listed on our site cover most needs, from the entry-level VPH1 at $22 a month to the VPH8 with 16 vCPU cores, and dedicated machines from DSH1 at $149 up to the dual-processor DSH5. Some projects still call for something different, and the Sales team is happy to look at those requests.

What can be customised

  • Dedicated server resources. Additional RAM, extra storage and more monthly traffic can be added to most dedicated configurations.
  • Networking. Custom networking arrangements are available on request for bare metal servers.
  • IP addresses. Extra genuine Hungarian IPv4 addresses are offered as a paid add-on for both VPS and dedicated services. Tell us how many you need and what they will be used for.
  • Software add-ons. Control panels such as cPanel/WHM, Plesk Obsidian, DirectAdmin, ISPmanager Lite, Virtualmin or VestaCP, plus paid management and backup services.

Information that helps us quote accurately

Explain the workload first and the hardware second. Tell us what the server will run, such as a busy web shop, a mail platform, a set of VPN or proxy endpoints, a game server or a trading bot, along with expected traffic, storage growth and any operating system requirement. If you already know the specification you want, list CPU, RAM, disk type and size, IP count and the control panel.

Growing an existing service

If you already run a VPS and are outgrowing it, the usual path is to order the larger plan, migrate your data across, and cancel the old virtual machine before its renewal date. You take the backup and handle the move yourself, unless you have paid management. Our Linux VPS and Windows VPS pages describe each plan so you can pick the right step up. For dedicated servers, many upgrades can be applied to the same machine, so ask Sales before ordering a new one.

How quotes are delivered

Send your request through the contact form or a Sales ticket. We reply in writing with the configuration, monthly price and any setup notes. Accepting a quote simply means asking us to create the order, which you then pay in the usual way.

Reporting Abuse from Our Network

VPS Hungary allows any legal use of its servers, but we do not tolerate abuse. Spam, network attacks, malware hosting, phishing, illegal content and the misuse of IP addresses lead to suspension and, where warranted, termination. If you see harmful activity coming from one of our Hungarian IP ranges, we want to hear about it, whether or not you are a customer.

How to submit a report

Email info@vpshungary.com with the word Abuse in the subject line, or, if you have a client account, open a ticket in the Abuse department. Automated feedback loop reports and standard abuse report formats are accepted at the same address.

What a useful report contains

  • The source IP address involved, and the destination where relevant.
  • Exact date and time of the activity with the time zone, ideally in UTC.
  • The type of abuse: spam, brute-force login attempts, port scanning, denial-of-service traffic, phishing, malware distribution or infringing content.
  • Evidence such as full email headers for spam, firewall or server log lines for attacks, or URLs for hosted content.

Reports without a timestamp or source IP are very difficult to act on, because the same address may serve different customers at different times.

What happens next

Our team checks the evidence and identifies the service involved. Depending on severity, we notify the customer and ask for a fix within a set period, restrict the affected traffic, or suspend the server immediately. Ongoing attacks, phishing and clearly illegal material are dealt with without waiting for the customer. We do not share the customer's identity with the reporter, but we may confirm that action has been taken.

If you are the customer named in a report

Treat it seriously. A compromised server often sends spam or attack traffic without the owner realising. Reply to the abuse ticket, explain what you found, and describe the steps you have taken, such as removing malicious scripts, closing open relays, changing credentials or reinstalling from a clean image. Prompt cooperation is the best way to keep the service online. Repeated or deliberate abuse ends the account under our Terms of Service.

Account Security and Identity Verification

Because a single ticket can trigger a reinstall, a password reset or a change of ownership, we take care to confirm who we are talking to before acting on sensitive requests. These checks protect your servers and data from anyone trying to impersonate you.

  • When we verify identity

Verification may be required when a request comes from an email address not registered on the account, when someone asks to change the primary email or account holder, before transferring a service to another person, before disclosing details about a service, and when the request involves destructive actions such as reinstalling an operating system on a server that has been running for some time.

  • How verification works

The simplest method is to open the ticket from inside the client area while logged in, since that already proves control of the account. If you cannot log in, we may ask you to reply from the registered email address, to confirm details only the account holder would know, such as a recent invoice number or payment transaction ID, or in some cases to provide additional documentation. We only ask for what is needed for the specific request.

  • Protect your own account

    • Use a unique, strong password for the client area and change it if you suspect it has been exposed.
    • Keep the registered email address current and secure, as password resets are sent there.
    • Use SSH keys rather than passwords on Linux servers, and strong Administrator credentials on Windows Server.
    • Review the contacts and sub-users on your account and remove anyone who no longer needs access.
  • What we will never ask for

VPS Hungary staff will never ask for your client area password, your full payment card number, or your PayPal or cryptocurrency wallet credentials. If you receive a message claiming to be from us that requests any of these, do not respond. Forward it to info@vpshungary.com so we can warn other customers.

How we handle the personal data used in these checks is set out in our Privacy and Cookie Policy.

Frequently asked questions

Do you have a phone number I can call?

No. VPS Hungary provides support in writing only, through support tickets in the client area, email to info@vpshungary.com and the website contact form. Written support gives you a permanent record of every exchange, lets you share exact error messages and logs, and allows our engineers to work the queue around the clock without anyone waiting on hold.

Is support really available 24/7?

Yes. The ticket desk is staffed every day of the year, including weekends and holidays. You can open a ticket at any hour and it will be picked up by the engineer on shift. Urgent availability problems, such as a server that is down or needs a hard reboot, are prioritised ahead of general questions when the queue is busy.

How quickly will I get a reply?

We do not quote a fixed number of minutes because response time depends on queue volume and the type of request. Outages and reboot requests are handled on priority, and most simple questions are answered quickly. A detailed first message is the best way to speed things up, since the engineer can act immediately instead of asking follow-up questions.

Can I ask questions before I create an account?

Yes. Use the contact form in the client area or email info@vpshungary.com. Pre-sales questions about plan sizes, operating systems, Windows evaluation editions, extra IP addresses, control panels, payment methods or upgrade paths are welcome. You do not need to place an order or register to get an answer, and replies arrive at the email address you provide.

Which department should I choose for a reboot request?

Choose Technical Support. Hard reboots and operating system reinstalls are handled through tickets on priority. State clearly which server is affected, using its hostname or IP address, and what you want done. For reinstallation, confirm in writing that you have saved any data you need, because the disk will be wiped and we will not proceed on assumption.

Will you fix problems inside my server's software?

Our services are unmanaged by default, so standard support covers hardware, virtualization, the network and provisioning. Configuring web servers, databases, mail or other applications inside your VM is your responsibility. If you would rather have our team handle that work, paid management is available as an add-on; ask the Sales department for details and pricing.

How do I report spam or an attack from one of your IPs?

Email info@vpshungary.com with Abuse in the subject line, or open an Abuse ticket if you have an account. Include the source IP, the exact date and time with time zone, the type of activity, and evidence such as email headers or log lines. Reports with clear timestamps and logs can be traced to a specific service and acted on quickly.

Can I get a configuration that is not listed on the site?

Often, yes. Dedicated servers can usually take extra RAM, storage and traffic, custom networking can be arranged, and additional Hungarian IPv4 addresses are available as a paid add-on. Describe your workload and preferred specification to the Sales team through a ticket or the contact form, and we will reply in writing with a configuration and monthly price.

Why are you asking me to verify my identity?

Some requests, such as changing the account email, transferring a service, disclosing service details or reinstalling a server, could cause real harm if made by an impostor. Verification protects your data and servers. Opening the ticket while logged in to the client area is usually enough; otherwise we may ask you to reply from the registered address or confirm account details.

Is my payment safe if I send details in a ticket?

Please never send full card numbers, wallet keys or passwords in a ticket. Payments are made through PayPal or a cryptocurrency gateway, not through the help desk. If a payment has not been credited, send only the transaction ID and amount to the Billing department so staff can trace it without needing any sensitive financial information from you.
